Upgrade Your MagicBand

It’s like Christmas for the whole family when you open that package in the mail. You know the one I mean. You are heading for Disney in a couple of weeks for vacation and the package with everyone’s MagicBands arrives in the mail. You open the package and it gets real that your family is actually going to Disney. After everyone finishes their happy dances you pass them out. Everyone selected their own individual color to match their own individual personality. Now, that happy dance experience can be even better.

Soon, Disney will start giving resort hotel guests and new and renewing annual passholders the option to upgrade the complimentary solid color Magic Bands to one of more than 30 MagicBand options featuring Disney characters and designs. The upgraded MagicBand options will be available for purchase before your vacation or annual pass renewal through the My Disney Experience website.

Basically, here is how it works. The complementary MagicBands that are included with vacation packages and annual passes normally sell for $14.99 in the parks. Instead of taking the complimentary MagicBand, you can apply its value toward the purchase of one of the 30 plus available MagicBands featuring Disney Characters and designs. These MagicBands normally retail for around $25 to $35. I think that is a great deal.

Of course, if you do not want to upgrade you can still get one of the complimentary MagicBands. Will you be upgrading your Magic Bands?

I grew up in Southeastern Kentucky where everyone loves basketball. I am married to Marty and we have three daughters, two sons-in-law, one grandson, and a Japanese Bobtail cat named Luna. I didn’t get to go to my first theme park until my second daughter was four months old. We came to Magic Kingdom that year and I was hooked. We moved to Central Florida in 2017 and became annual pass holders at Disney World. Now we are in the parks almost every week. In my time here I have learned a lot about Disney, but I feel as though I have only scratched the surface. That is why I am excited about sharing the experiences and things I learn along the way. I would love to hear from you. Let me know what you want to learn about a trip to Disney. I may write a blog about it.
